Eva may collect them but she comes up with some great ones of her own. One of the motto's I live by is "everything happens for a reason". I truly believe that everything in life happens for a reason, whether it be the loss of a job, losing out on a house you hoped to buy etc. It may take days, weeks, months or even years to understand why something happened but you will find out one day what the reason is. Perhaps a job was lost to help a person look to themselves to see if they were really happy at work and if not, it could help them to find a job they truly love. Perhaps the purchase of a home didn't work out because a better house, in a better neighborhood is going to be available some time down the road.
A couple of others I like is "Be true to yourself" and "when one door closes, another opens"
I think my favorite quote is "Before you echo Amen in your home or place of Worship, think and remember, A Child is listening." -Mary Griffith. There are many reasons why I like this quote and I try to remember it and live by it.
I'm with Heather about "Everything happens for a reason" I also like "always leave your loved ones with loving words, you never know if it's the last time you'll see them"
Here's another one I try to always live by "believe none of what you hear and half of what you see". So often, whether it be friends, co-workers, or for those in the public eye, tabloids, one will here, "well did you hear what she said or I heard that she heard that he did this". All that does is get people upset over something that is usually not true. In regards to half of what you see, maybe you've seen someone without their wedding ring, someone who always has it, first thought could be, I didn't see it on her something must have happened. Or how about any number of celebrities who are shown in pictures with someone of the opposite sex, perhaps even being shot with kissing the other person on the cheek. Suddenly half the country, based on a photo believes what they see as someone cheating on their significant other.
I've found this quote to be true of my life, especially in the past two years. "We all aren't born for greatness, but we are given the opportunity to make this place better." I've learned this as I'm going through my graduate studies at The Ohio State University. I'm student teaching right now, and I can tell from the work with my students that I am making their lives better and that is the best feeling in the world. I may not be destined for greatness, but I have been given the opportunity to touch some child's life, and to me that's so great.
